Privacy Policy | Headshot Lab

This policy explains what Headshot Lab collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@headshotlab.com.

Where we are today

Headshot Lab is not open yet. Right now the only information we collect is what you give us when you join the waitlist or ask about team pricing. The sections on photos and payments describe how we'll handle those once we launch, so you know what to expect before you upload anything.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

Your email address and the package you chose.
How you found us: the page you came from and any campaign tags in the link you clicked (for example utm_source or an ad click ID).

When you ask about team pricing

Your name, company, email address, team size and anything you write in your message.

When you use Headshot Lab (after launch)

The selfies you upload and the headshots we create from them.
Your style choices, retouch requests and order history.
Payment details, which are entered with and handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

Automatically

Like any website, our servers receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use this to run and protect the site. We don't currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.

Your photos and face data

Your selfies are used for one thing: creating your headshots. To make sure every headshot still looks like you, our system compares the faces in your headshots with the faces in your selfies. That comparison creates a numerical description of facial features, sometimes called a face template, which some laws treat as biometric information.

We only process your photos and face data after you agree to it when you upload.
We use them only to create, check and retouch your headshots.
We never sell them, and we never use them to train models for anyone else.
We delete your uploaded selfies and any face templates within 30 days of your order, or sooner if you ask.
Your finished headshots stay available in your account until you delete them or ask us to.

Only upload photos of yourself. Please don't upload photos of other people or of anyone under 18.

How we use your information

To save your place on the waitlist and email you when we launch, including your launch discount.
To reply to team pricing requests.
To create and deliver your headshots, handle retouches and process refunds.
To understand which pages and campaigns bring people to Headshot Lab.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We'll only email you about Headshot Lab. Every email has a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Headshot Lab, and only what they need:

Formspree receives waitlist and team form submissions and forwards them to us.
Amazon Web Services hosts our website and, after launch, stores your photos.
Google Fonts serves the fonts on this site, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when the page loads.
Our payment processor handles payments and refunds after launch.
AI image providers may process your photos on our behalf to generate headshots. They may not use your photos for any other purpose.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or Headshot Lab.

How long we keep it

Uploaded selfies and face templates: up to 30 days after your order.
Finished headshots: until you delete them or close your account.
Waitlist and team inquiries: until you ask us to remove them, or once they're no longer useful.
Order and payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop emailing you, at any time. Email hello@headshotlab.com from the address you used and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or California's CCPA, and we'll honor those requests too.

Children

Headshot Lab is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll also email people on our list before it takes effect.
